On Saturday 18 April, Langford was the setting for a morning of fun, fitness, friendship and fast paced walking netball.

Two teams from Lymm and 3 from Jersey’s WN ladies, battled it out over 12 games.

Jersey player and coach Shaida got everyone warmed up and stretched out before play commenced, which unfortunately didn’t tire out the visitors.

The visitors set a fast pace and the Lymm Jets GS was on phenomenal form, with nets being easily scored from all over the D, the 3 Jersey defense duos were unable to stop her.

The Jersey Wonders took a bit of time to find their pace and despite a well earned win against Jersey Royals didn’t make the play-offs.

Jersey Lillies and Jersey Royals pushed back against the Lymm teams and there was quality WN played with accurate passes, excellent shooting and great teamwork on show.

Jersey’s pom – GS Tina Duckworth-  led the Jersey Lillies to victory out of the local teams, with the two visiting teams battling it out for the top spot.

The tournament could not have happened without the support of a team of local WN ladies led by Tracy O’Regan, and thanks to JNAs Linda and Wendy for umpiring, scoring and help.

After an evening of food and friendship, it was agreed this will be an annual event so if you feel like joining our amazing local ladies, come along to Langford on Sunday mornings 10-11.30.
