With teams reaching the final stages of the season, the winner of the ORA Winter Netball League has once again been revealed as Convent A, who remain unbeaten as Division 1 leaders. With points indicating clear winners in Divisions 2 and 4, Division 3 will be the one to watch as three teams battle for promotion.
In their final game of the season, Convent A played with a great attitude, fully committing to the task ahead and finishing off their winning season in style. Convent B enjoyed the challenge ahead of them. Convent B’s Player of the Match, Amelia Coutanche, and Milly Pratt were busy changing up options in the defence circle, gaining tips inside and outside the circle. Meanwhile, Convent A’s Player of the Match, Florence Allo, showed her amazing strengths of playing GS, body positioning both on and off her defender and linking brilliantly with fellow shooter Madison Fitzgerald-Wilkins, with both attackers clinical in front of the net. Mollie Luce (WA) and Toni Chaytor (Centre) showed their class with preliminary movements, clear drives and pinpoint accurate feeds to their shooters. Convent B’s young attackers Florence Kelly, Isla Rafferty, Scarlett Le Fustec went back to basics to keep possession of the ball. Reset ball was used effectively and many lessons were learned on the importance of driving onto the ball. Working against them was a formidable Convent A trio of Jodie Blampied, Layla dos Santos and Molly Carre, who rotated across WD, GD and GK with great effect. The rotations kept Convent B on their toes. High balls were snapped up, and an effective zone defence gave Convent B lots to think about. Convent B’s Bethannie Wood (WD) worked hard to keep her WA off the circle edge and challenged for everything. Yara Rodrigues (GS) and Paloma Farina Richings (GA) kept their energy levels high and shot well when the feeds came in. Paloma used her circle knowledge to find space and Yara used the front cut well. Overall, the speed of the pass, play patterns, sharp shooting and dominant defence were the winning factors for Convent A. To their credit, Convent B held their heads up high, small wins were celebrated and the final quarter was their best quarter. Convent A finished the game 72-30, giving them the final and twelfth consecutive win in their unbeaten season. The game was played in a good spirit and everyone, players, scorers and supporters celebrated Convent Club.

Currently topping Division 3 after a fantastic debut into the Senior league, Accies delivered a confident and well- structured performance against St Lawrence D, securing a convincing 62-25 victory. The opening quarter began at a fast pace, with both teams showing strong intent. Accies quickly settled into the game, executing sharp centre passes and impressive interceptions through the midcourt. Defensive pressure around the shooting circle proved effective from Accies’ Sirenna Woodford and Clara Malory, thus limiting st Lawrence’s scoring opportunities from Corbiere Cargo and Sydney Dicker. Accies finished the first quarter 15-10 ahead, setting the tone for the remainder of the match.
In the second quarter, Accies raised the intensity and began to dominate possession. A key focus during this period was the strength of the Accies midcourt, who brought excellent pace to the game while delivering clear, well-timed passes into Ava Huish (GS) and Zoe Morales and Barley Vibert (GA). This fluid link between defence and attack helped Accies force errors from St Lawrence and create valuable turnover of ball. The team’s accuracy allowed them to extend their lead to 27-15 at half time.
Midcouter Kacey O’Connor was instrumental during this phase of the game, consistently driving play forward and creating scoring opportunities. Her performance earned her Accies’ Player’s player of the match. At half time, the focus was on maintaining strong communication, controlling the speed of play, and ensuring players were aware of each other’s positioning across the court. Several positional changes for Accies were introduced, and Sirenna Woodford taking Centre, Estelle le Mornier taking Wing Attack and Flori Lofthouse taking Goal Keeper.
The adjustments proved effective and kept St Lawrence’s midcourtplayers, Coco Le Nard and Isla Parker on their guard trying to slow pace and intercept.
Despite excellent communication and team spirit from St Lawrence,Accies continued to control the game. St Lawrence showed determination and did work hard to feed the ball into shooting circle and their attack stayed strong and focused helping them stay competitive. However, Accies’ defensive structure remained solid stretching the lead to 43-22 by the end of the third quarter, led by Clara Malory (GD) whose excellent interception, court awarenessand strong communication throughout earned her Player of the Match for Accies.
St Lawrence Caroline Rodrigues playing Goal Defence produced strong defensive display and was awarded St Lawrence’s Player of the Match.
The final quarter was energetic from both sides, with Accies maintaining their composure to finish strongly and secured the 62-25 win.

Elsewhere in Division 3, St Ouen C went into their penultimate match against St Brelade C with vigour and determination, hoping to showcase how they have developed as a team throughout a tough season. They started strong, with Kerry Roche linking well with Lyn Parris to move the ball into the circle, giving Mel Noon and Elisa Da Silva opportunities to score. At the opposite end, Harriet St Pier was impressive as Goal Keeper, a change from her usual attacking position, whereas Lisette Grenyer (GD) earned Player of the Match for her efforts in interrupting a strong St Brelade’s shooting duo of Isla Riley and Player of the Match Lolly Waters. St Brelade soon began to find their rhythm, returning to their usual slick play across court. Defenders Charlotte Edis, Charlotte Butlerand Suzhaine Van de Merwe were a formidable team, gaining several interceptions and rebounds against St Ouen C and allowing their team to take the lead. Despite St Ouen’s constant pressure and determination, St Brelade were able to forge ahead and take the win at 40 – 20.

Ending a week of exciting netball, a crucial matchup between St Ouen B and St Brelade B was sure to be a competitive game from the start, and the match did not disappoint. St Ouen were confident from the first whistle, quickly stepping up to the challenge of a very strong defensive team in St Brelade’s Ashleigh Taylor (GK) and Talia Morris (GD). St Ouen’s Jasmine Le Lievre’s (GA) movement within the circle, coupled with Zoe Barrett-Banks’ (GS) strength under the post, provided ample opportunities to score, despite the tough opposition. At the other end, St Brelade’s shooters, Skye Clifford (GA) and Brody Morris (GS) had a similar battle against St Ouen’s strong duo of Lauren Byrne (GK) and Sarah Ramasawmy (GD), who were supported by Emma Le Main (WD) to disrupt play and apply pressure. St Ouen showed an impressive display of netball, giving St Brelade a surprise in their level of play across the court, as both western sides showed determination to come away with a win. Player of the Match, Lucy Fox (Centre), worked in harmony with Lianne Laignel (WA) and Michala Graham (WA) to fend off challenges, and her support across the court earned her the accolade for St Ouen. Despite a standout performance from St Brelade in the final quarter, with multiple interceptions giving their team a chance to close the gap, St Ouen had done enough to maintain their lead and snatched a 43-39 win. Maia Payton (Centre) was awarded Player of the Match for St Brelade for her calm, disciplined play throughout the game for St Brelade.
