The Jersey and Guernsey Netball Associations have jointly agreed to pause the Netball Inter Insulars for 2026.

This difficult decision follows ongoing challenges around scheduling, eligibility clarification, team selection processes and creating an event that challenges and is of benefit to all, which have made it impossible to deliver the event to the standard both islands desire.

Both Associations recognise that the Inter Insulars hold significant value for players, coaches, officials, and supporters. For that reason, the priority now is to strengthen the long term development of the event rather than push ahead under unstable conditions.

The logistical complexities of aligning calendars, facilities, and representative squads across two islands have been a major factor. These challenges are shared by both Associations in their own unique ways and resolving them requires time, collaboration, and a more sustainable framework.

Over the coming year, Jersey and Guernsey Netball will work closely together to review the current model and establish a clearer, more resilient structure for future Inter Insular competitions.

This joint commitment aims to create a stable foundation that allows both islands to focus entirely on the netball being played.

Jersey Netball would like to reiterate how devastated we are following this decision, and recognise the impact it will have on players, officials and supporters. We thank you for your understanding while we work with Guernsey to ensure that when the Inter Insulars return, they do so stronger and better supported than ever.
