On Sunday 15th February, 6 teams of players came together to compete in a mixed tournament to support Sportscast Jersey’s Dan Andrade in his fundraising efforts for the London Marathon for Jersey Hospice Care.
With over 55 individual entries, we were able to create 6 teams with abilities from total newbies all the way to Jets level… and everything in between! It was a competitive tournament from the start, with excellent displays of netball from every team. The added challenge of playing alongside new teammates and getting used to each other quickly was no mean feat, but every team took this in their stride to offer some fantastic contests throughout.

Although it was a friendly tournament, it’s always fun to have a bit of competition! The results were…
6th Pink Team
5th Yellow Team
4th Purple Team
3rd Green Team
2nd Blue Team
Winners Red Team

Most importantly, from entries, cakes and refreshments and charity donations, the total raised for Jersey Hospice Care was £811! Donations can still be made here.

It was a real team effort for our development officer Sam, volunteers, umpires and officials to get the tournament from paper to court, highlighting the sense of community that we are lucky to foster within Jersey Netball. A huge thank you to Meg, Kacey, Zoë, Lauren, Wendy and Linda for supporting Sam both leading up to and on the day. A big shout out also to Emily and Ruth for umpiring throughout the day and to Enya and Sam Franco for stepping in to support in between games. Big up St Saviour Netball Club umpires! Most importantly, thank you to all players who took part and made the event so successful!
