Umpiring

Officiating is a fantastic way to stay connected to the game you love while supporting the sport’s growth. Whether you’re 12 or 60+, there’s a place for you in netball officiating. From young enthusiasts to former players with years of experience, anyone with a passion for netball can excel as an umpire or technical official.

Many officials begin later in life, with some starting in their 30s and going on to officiate at England Netball competitions – achievements they may not have reached as players.

How to get started

No matter your age or experience, if you’re passionate about netball, you can become an umpire. By completing England Netball’s Into Officiating Award Course, you’ll gain the skills to begin your journey. New officials learn by getting out on the court and having a go, building confidence with every game.
